This photo was captured while doing a cover story for the London Sunday Telegraph Magazine. The picture editor was tipped off by an Australian Scientist who had been watching the floods in North Queensland and simultaneously observing the pelicans building their nests on and around Lake Eyre. Three months later water from heavy rains had travelled down the Diamantina  River towards Lake Eyre creating a massive spectacle of Wildflowers in the desert around the northern Flinders Ranges.

Driving past this location the shot was captured in 3 frames using a 5x4 with a 6x12 back as the sun went down.
